Power outage strikes northwest Carson City

Electricity was restored to 1,776 northwest Carson City residents by 11:30 a.m. this morning

Gary Aldax of Sierra Pacific Power Co. said a circuit tripped along Winnie Lane at about 9:50 a.m. The outage affected northwestern Carson City, including Silver Oak Golf Course.

Aldax said repair crews were still looking for the cause of the outage, but that the circuit reset on its own and there doesn't appear to be any mechanical damage.

He anticipated that the outage should be over around noon.
