Madeline A. Fah

A Mass of Resurrection for Madeline A. Fah, 88, a Gardnerville resident for the past two years, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at St. Gall Catholic Church. Viewing will be before the Mass.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Main Chapel of the Italian Cemetery in Colma, Calif.

Mrs. Fah died Feb. 23, 2004, in Gardnerville. She was born Feb. 3, 1916, in San Francisco, Calif., to Frank and Mary Solari Anselmi.

She grew up and lived most of her life in San Francisco until moving to San Rafael, Calif., in 1970.

As a teenager, Mrs. Fah worked as a lifeguard at the Crystal Plunge in San Francisco and she retired from the Emporium of San Francisco. She was an avid bowler and an active member of the WIBC when she lived in San Francisco. She enjoyed visiting Lake Tahoe, gardening, knitting, playing cards and being with family and friends.

She was a member of the San Francisco Chapter of the Women of the Moose, serving as Senior Regent and becoming a lifetime member of the College of Regents. She was a member of the Terra Linda Seniors and served in numerous offices, including president. She was a member of the San Rafael Goldenaires, the Marin Rod and Gun Club and the Marin Bonsai Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Carl; brother, Andrew Anselmi; and sister, Eleanor Marino.

Among her survivors are her daughter, Virginia Fah of South Lake Tahoe, and granddaughter Joann Fah and daughter-in-law Winona Fah, both of San Francisco.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
