A memorial service for Harry Wray Hampton, 78, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Topaz Ranch Estates.
Mr. Hampton died Sept. 4, 2004, at Carson Valley Medical Center. He was born Dec. 15, 1925, in Los Angeles, to Leon Victor and Pauline Virginia Dotson Hampton.
He married Mary in 1945. She preceded him in death in October 2002.
Mr. Hampton worked for 32 years for the Bell System. He enjoyed amateur radio and tinkering with anything electronic.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Among his survivors are his daughter, Kathleen of Topaz Ranch Estates; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Cecilia of Phillips Ranch, Calif.; brothers Les and Billie of Palm Desert, Calif.; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Bill Sturm of Laguna Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Matt, Tim, Anthony, Becky, Jennifer, Ryan, Kevin and Sergio; and great-grandchildren Isaac, Rachel, Dominic, Daniel, Alyssa, Savannah and Amanda.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kathleen Quenga, 3921 Topaz Ranch Drive, Wellington, NV, 89444 to help with costs of out-of-town relatives.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
