Sgt. Martin Reidy

A funeral service for Sgt. Martin Reidy, 87, a former Carson City resident, will be at noon Wednesday at the Southern Nevada Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Burial will follow the service.

Sgt. Reidy died Aug. 11, 2005, in Henderson. He was born Jan. 26, 1918, in Worcester, Mass.

At the time of his death, Sgt. Reidy had lived in Boulder City for a year. Prior to that he lived in Carson City for 50 years.

Sgt. Reidy was retired for 32 years from the U.S. Air Force. He served in World War II and was held as a prisoner of war.

He was a Catholic.

Among his survivors are his son Kristopher C. of Grapevine, Texas; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Boulder City Family Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
