Nancy B. Bowers

A memorial service for Nancy B. Bowers, 88, a lifetime Carson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Ms. Bowers died Jan. 9, 2005, at home.

She was born April 25, 1916, in Carson City.

She was a graduate of Carson City High School and received a master's degree in librarianship from the University of San Francisco.

She retired from the State Library in Carson City after more than 30 years. She was an accomplished artist who painted in oils. She was a member of the Sierra Club.

She had no known survivors.

Cremation will be at Walton's Sierra Crematory.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sierra Club.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
