Upland game hunts opened on Oct. 8

The 2005-2006 Nevada hunting seasons for chukar, Hungarian partridge, four species of quail (California, Gambel's, scaled and mountain) and three species of rabbit (cottontail, pygmy and white-tailed jackrabbit) opened on Saturday, Oct. 8.

They are as follows:

Chukar Partridge: Daily bag limit of 6 and a possession limit of 12. This season will close on Jan. 31. Open to Non-Residents.

Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset daily.

Hungarian Partridge: Daily bag limit of 6 and a possession limit of 12. This season will close on Jan. 31. Open to Non-Residents.

Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset daily.

California, Gambel's, Scaled and Mountain Quail: Only in open, applicable areas. Check the regulations for those areas. Daily limit of 10 and a possession limit of 20. Open to Non-Residents. This season will close on Jan. 31.

Note: Mountain Quail: Daily limit of 2 and a possession limit of 4.

Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset daily.

Rabbit (cottontail, pygmy and white-tailed jackrabbit): Daily bag limit of 10 and a possession limit of 20. Open to Non-Residents. This season will close on Feb. 28.

Shooting hours are sunrise to sunset daily.
