Ten northern Nevadans will be honored as "Healthcare Heroes" in an event in Reno on August 3.
The recognition is sponsored by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Nevada Business Journal.
To be recognized are: Dr. Dan Spogen of the University of Nevada School of Medicine, Linda Smith of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Charlie Meyers of Banner Churchill Hospital, Deb Girard of Circle of Life Hospice, Dr. Paul Katz of Washoe Institute for Neurosciences, Gerald Akerman of Northeastern Nevada Area Health Education Center, Annette and Harvey Whittemore of Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome Center, Kathy Barlow of Kids to Seniors Korner, and Dr. John Packham of University of Nevada School of Medicine.
