The Sands Regent, a Reno-based casino operator, said last week it will pay bonuses to its top three managers if the company is taken over by March 31, 2007.
The publicly held company's board has approved a merger agreement with Herbst Gaming that is scheduled to close this year.
The Sands Regent said it will pay Ferenc Szony, its president and chief executive officer, a bonus of $200,000 and will pay Chief Operating Officer Rob Medeiros and Chief Financial Officer Cornelius Klerk $150,000 each.
