The City of Reno is offering a 90-day amnesty for small and home-based business owners to get a required business license without penalty. The program starts Aug. 1.
Small businesses are defined as those with no more than three fulltime or five part-time workers.
Business license fees range from $60 a year for gross sales of less than $20,000 a year to $130 for gross sales of $20,000 to
$100,000. A tiered schedule covers companies with gross sales exceeding $100,000 a year.
The penalty is half the license cost for every year of operation without
a license.
Business license forms may be downloaded through the city's website, http://www.cityofreno.com.
