Don Johnston, retired executive director of the Sparks Chamber of Commerce and former Sparks postmaster, has been recognized for his volunteerism at Northern Nevada Medical Center.
Johnston, a volunteer at the hospital for five years and a member of its board of governors for 15 years, received the 2010 Excellence in Volunteerism Award from the Nevada Hospital Association.
