Officials to comment on bikeway project study

Carson City officials will review the Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway Project feasibility study and possibly submit comments to various agencies when they meet Thursday.

The Nevada portion of the proposed bikeway is more than 30 miles long and stretches from the Nevada state line in Crystal Bay at the north to Stateline at the south.

Nevada Question 1 allocated $5 million to Carson City, Douglas County and Washoe County for the project.

In other matters, supervisors are scheduled to:

• Augment and amend the 2010-11 budget in the amount of about $19.7 million.

• Hear a presentation of the Historic Resources Commission's annual report for 2010.

• Adopt on a second reading an ordinance to change the zoning designations of property located in and around the Carson City Landfill.

• Hear a report of the Carson City Operations Scorecard.

• Appoint two members to the Cultural commission for three-year terms expiring at the end of 2013.

As the liquor and entertainment board, it will consider:

• Approving Wei Zhoa as liquor manager for China Chef at 3135 Highway 50 East.

• Approving Rajwant Kaur Sandhu as liquor manager for Fairview Smoke and Liquor at 933 Woodside Drive.

• Approving Odette Renee Wiebold as liquor manager for the 7-Eleven store at 3701 N. Carson St.

As the redevelopment authority, they will consider augmenting and amending the 2010-11 redevelopment authority budget in the amount of about $2.3 million.

• The Carson City Parks and Recreation Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Sierra Room of the community center to discuss or take action on the following:

• An update on the extension of the Arlington Square Ice Rink season.

• An amendment to the bylaws regarding the frequency of commission meetings.

• The Parks and Recreation Department's proposed 20-year capital improvement project budget.

• A new strategy for the proposed indoor recreation center which includes building a multi-purpose athletic complex as a first phase of the project.

• A report from the school board liaison.

• The Board of Equalization meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Sierra Room of the community center.

• The Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Hall Capitol Conference Room, 201 N. Carson St. For a complete agenda, go to www.carson.org and click on events.
