AGC honors companies for safety

RHP Mechanical Systems of Reno last week won the Golden Hart Award for outstanding safety peformance.

The annual award is a program of the Nevada Chapter of the Associated General Contractors.

Winners of the AGC's "Safe Site Program Award" included RHP and Sundt Construction Inc.

GuiDenby, Inc. was recognized as the general contractor in the building division with the best safety record with fewer than 50,000 hours worked, and Clark & Sullivan Construction was recognized among general contractors in the building division with more than 50,000 hours worked.

Among engineering contractors, Silverado Excavating was recognized for the best safety record among employers with less than 100,000 hours worked, Sierra Nevada Construction was named the winner among employers with more than 100,000 hours worked and Granite Construction was recognized among firms with more than 400,000 hours worked.

Among specialty contractors, Omboli Interiors Inc. was recognized for the best safety record with employers with less than 50,000 hours worked. Briggs Electric was recognized among employers with more than 50,000 hours worked and RHP Mechanical was recognized for the best record among employers with more than 100,000 hours worked.

Basalite Concrete Products, LLC was recognized as the supplier with the best safety record.

Winners of AGC of America Awards, awarded to companies which have a zero incident rate or are 25 percent or more below average for national AGC members of similar size and type, included: A-l Steel, Inc., Clark & Sullivan Construction, Construction Development Services Inc., Frank Lepori Construction, Gradex Construction Co., GuiDenby, Inc., J & J Mechanical, Inc., Lindell's Painting Service, Lucky Concrete, Inc., Northern Nevada Concrete Inc., Omboli Interiors Inc., RHP Mechanical Systems, United Construction Co. and Valley Concrete Company Inc.

Companies recognized for no lost-time accidents included Aggregate Industries, Basalite Concrete Products LLC, Bragg Crane Service, Briggs Electric Inc., Building Solutions Inc., Clark & Sullivan Construction, Construction Development Services Inc., Frank Lepori Construction Inc., Gerhardt & Berry Construction, Gradex Construction Co., Granite Construction-Dayton, Granite Construction-Lockwood, GuiDenby Inc., J & J Mechanical Inc., K7 Construction Inc., L & L Plumbing & Heating Inc.
