Fire destroys Silver Springs garage

A detached two-car garage caught fire in Silver Springs Monday morning in the 3000 block of Onyx Street.

Firefighters from the Lyon County Fire Protection District were dispatched at 6:56 a.m. for a report of a residential structure fire. When firefighters arrived on scene, they found the garage on fire, with smoke pouring out, according to the Lyon County Manager's Office.

Crews were able to knock down the fire in 30 minutes. No injuries were reported.
