Yerington man ejected from truck, seriously injured on April 3, 2013 near Osborne Lane

A Yerington man suffered severe injuries Tuesday night after he was ejected from the white Chevrolet pickup he had rolled before 7:30 near Osborne Lane, 5 miles south of Yerington.

David Enox, 44, was driving south on State Route 208 when his truck, a 1977 Chevrolet K-10, drifted off of the right edge of the road. He attempted to bring the truck back to the road, over-corrected and sent the truck across both travel lanes, according to a news release from the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The truck went through a section of fence and overturned. Enox, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and found 40 feet from where the truck had stopped.

Enox was flown to the hospital in Reno by Care Flight and his injuries were “very significant,” according to the NHP.

The NHP is asking witnesses to contact the lead investigator, Chris Kelly, at 775-689-4661 or ckelly@dps.state.nv.us regarding case number NHP-130401574.

According to the NHP, 35 percent of those killed in crashes investigated by the NHP were not wearing seatbelts.
