“Valley of the Dry Bones” by Las Vegas-based artist Matthew Couper will be on display through July 26 at the Nevada Arts Council’s Office eXhibition Series Gallery, 716 N. Carson St. The gallery will host a talk with the artist at 6:30 p.m. and a reception from 5 to 7:30 p.m. June 27.

Couper graduated from the Quay School for the Arts in Whanganui, New Zealand, and was awarded a Royal Over-Seas League International Scholarship to work and travel in the United Kingdom. He moved to Nevada to explore periods of Western art history. His work uses the established Spanish colonial narrative traditions to discuss the space between myth, religion and art politics. Couper recently received a 2013 Nevada Arts Council Artist Fellowship Honorable Mention in Visual Arts.

Admission is free. The exhibit is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. For more information, go to www.mattcouper.com or send an email to info@mattcouper.com.
