The Fernley Republican Women have adopted E4 Zachary Matheus, son of Rick and Judge Lori Matheus of Fernley. Zack was born in Carson City on July 27, 1993. He grew up in Lyon County and graduated from Fernley High School in 2011.

Matheus’ father was a Marine and his great-grandfather was in the Army. He was deployed to Afghanistan on June 30. He will be stationed there for 9 to 15 months.

Zack and his wife, Dedria, are proud parents of their 18-month-old son Darius.

The FRW’s Caring for America/Adopt-a-Soldier Program collects non-perishable foods for the Fernley Food Bank, along with donations of funds and care items for their adopted soldiers. The soldiers need single serving food items, personal care items, cards and letters.

The FRW also collect children’s books during the year and deliver them to the Shriners Hospital each September. All contributions for any of these important programs will be greatly appreciated. Financial contributions can be sent to the FRW at P. O. Box 412, Fernley, NV, 89408.
