Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Jan. 30. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:
Plaza Hotel & Conference Center, 801 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.
Subway, 3959 S. Carson St., 100 points.
Los Caporales Supermarket, 1621 U.S. Highway 50 E., Suite G, 99 points. Containers of foods prepared on site were not properly labeled.
Ed’s Doghouse, 3300 Airport road, 98 points. The speed gun holster and a few areas of the main ice machine were not clean.
Kei Sushi, 3220 U.S. Highway 50 E/, Suite 4, 98 points. Sushi was prepared without gloves, repeat violation, corrected on site. Dishes of food were not covered before other dishes were placed on top.
Los Caporales Supermarket, bakery, 1621 U.S. Highway 50 E., Suite G, 96 points. Labels for cakes prepared on site were incomplete. Shell eggs were not stored properly inside the walk-in. Prepared pans of Jell-O were not covered. Boxes of food were stored directly on the floor. An open can of La Lechera was stored in the walk-in. Cupcake pans were stored directly on the floor.
Carson Horseshoe Club, Lucky Horse Grille, 402 N. Carson St., 96 points. Customer utensils were improperly stored with the handles at the bottom of the storage container, corrected on site. Wiping cloths were stored outside the sanitizer buckets. The shared grease waste barrel had an excessive amount of waste buildup. Grease buildup was on the baffles of the ventilation hood.
Pho Country, 2495 N. Carson St., 92 points. Raw meats were stored over prepared raw and cooked vegetables. A baffle was missing in the grease hood over the grills. The can opener, ice scoop storage container, plastic mats holding clean glassware, utensils and pans were not clean. Boxes of single-service items were stored directly on the floor in the rear storage shed immediately next to containers of caustic chemicals. Plastic food containers were not inverted while stored directly under staff jackets next to the rear kitchen freezer. The walls and floors in the mop sink room were dirty, as were the walls and ceiling in the dish washing room. The walk-in door and perimeter of the kitchen floor were dirty. Light bulbs above the grill were not shielded.
