Carson City Health Inspections for Friday, Oct. 14, 2016

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Oct. 14. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Dotty’s, 3771 S. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Domino’s Pizza, 3231 E. Highway 50, 99 points. Garbage storage container lids were not closed.

Joanie’s Creekside Cafe & Catering, 1795 E. College Parkway, Suite 100, 99 points. The floors and kitchen line equipment needed to be cleaned.

Kim Lee’s Sushi & Teriyaki, 319 N. Carson St., 99 points. Floors were not clean.

Port of Subs, 3721 N. Carson St., 99 points. There was no chlorine residual in the sanitizer bucket, corrected on site.

Wally’s Pizza & Subs, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite D, 99 points. Mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly designed, constructed, installed, located or operated. The dishwasher was not adding sanitizer to the final rinse cycle.

Westside Pour House, bar, 110 W. Telegraph St., 99 points. Non-food contact surfaces were not in good repair. A leak was found in the reach-in cooler. Fan covers in the walk-in cooler needed to be cleaned.

Johnny Rockets, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite B, 97 points. The dishwasher was not releasing the appropriate level of chlorine sanitizer; the level of sanitizer at the utility sink was too low as well. The floors were not clean.

Kim Lee’s Sushi & Teriyaki, oyster bar, 319 N. Carson St., 97 points. Surfaces of equipment and utensils needed to be cleaned. The ice machine needed to be shut down, cleaned and sanitized to remove bacterial growth. Cooler handles and soda nozzles needed to be cleaned.

Bamboo Garden, 4250 Cochise St., Suite 40, 96 points. Numerous foods in the refrigerators and freezers were not properly labeled or dated. The ice scoop was being stored directly in the ice bin with the handle in the ice, corrected on site. The grease barrel and garbage storage lids were not closed.

Denny’s, 2299 N. Carson St., 96 points. The grease receptacle in the waste storage area was coated with grease and food debris. There was no certified food handler on site.

The Lady Tamales, 933 E. Woodside Drive, Suite 102, 96 points. The air blower to dry hands in the bathroom did not work. The exhaust hood baffles and the gas pipes behind the flat top grill were dirty.

Westside Pour House, restaurant, 110 W. Telegraph St., 96 points. Food was found above the required temperature of 41 degrees or under. Floors and other non-food contact surfaces of equipment and utensils were not clean.

Kim Lee’s Sushi & Teriyaki, sushi bar, 319 N. Carson St., 95 points. Employees were handling food without gloves. Floors were not clean.

Living the Good Life, restaurant, 1480 N. Carson St., 95 points. The low temperature dishwasher was missing chlorine residual in the final rinse. The exhaust hood baffles were soiled with grease and dust.

Tip Top Amusements, 1990 S. Roop St., 95 points. Rodent feces were found and floors were not clean.

99 Cents Only, 2080 E. William St., 95 points. The rear overhead loading door in the storage area was damaged. The floors in the bathrooms were dirty.

McDonald’s, 3200 Market St., 94 points. The ice machine needed to be cleaned. The ice scoop was being stored in the ice. There were no disposable paper towels in the dispenser near the ice machine at the employee hand wash sink.

Carson Donut, 2170 S. Carson St., Suite 10, 86 points. Employee drinks were being stored in the work area. The employee hand wash sink was not easily accessible. A home style refrigerator was found in the facility. A test kit to measure chlorine residual in sanitizer buckets was missing. A hose was being used as a faucet on the three-compartment sink. Garbage storage container lids were open.
