Mahoney’s sentence: Mahoney, the wife murderer, was sentenced by Judge Rising to imprisonment for life. At noon a rockaway drove up to the courthouse and Mahoney was brought out handcuffed. His young daughters were crying. As he was about to leave, he said to the younger girl: “If you watch out, you will find out before long who murdered your poor mother.” Mahoney arrived at the state prison in the afternoon and was turned over to Warden Bell.
