RSVP Nevada Day Carnival celebrates Nevada’s 150th birthday

For the 29th year, the Nevada Rural Counties Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Inc. will sponsor the Nevada Day Carnival at Mills Park Oct. 30 through Nov. 2.

Kicking off the event will be “Family Night” on Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5-9 p.m. in which all rides are just $1 courtesy of Carson City Toyota Scion. Advance tickets can be purchased at the dealership beginning Friday.

On Oct. 31 through Nov. 2,the fair opens at noon and includes carnival rides, live music from local musicians as well as food booths and craft vendors. All day ride wristbands are $30 but coupons are available at www.nevadaruralrsvp.org.

Special events include a pumpkin carving contest, Halloween costumes contest for kids and adults as well as music from local bands on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Musicians still are sought.
