Grand Rounds, a digital health startup based in San Francisco with offices in South Reno, received a Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Award, which honors the Best Places to Work Nationwide in 2016.

The company, which provides a web-based platform to identify high-quality health care providers and to connect patients with physicians, was listed second in Glassdoor’s list of 50 top small- and medium-sized businesses.

“Being named a top employer through Glassdoor’s Employees’ Choice Award is especially gratifying as it reflects the feedback of our team,” Owen Tripp, CEO of Grand Rounds, said in a press release. “I am honored to work with such amazing people who are dedicated to helping patients achieve better health and health care.”

Grand Rounds was founded in 2011 and works with the nations largest employers to provide innovative health benefits to their employees. The company opened their Reno office last May. They currently employ more than 180 employees with more than 40 of these employees working in northern Nevada.

According to a previous interview with the NNBW, the company said it expects to generate a payroll of $8 million annually once it reaches a staff of 200 employees.

The Employees’ Choice Awards program determines the rankings for the best companies solely on the input of the employees who provide feedback on their jobs, work environment and companies via Glassdoor.

“Companies that tie corporate mission to culture in a way that feeds employee satisfaction inspire us everyday,” said Scott Dobroski, Glassdoor Community Expert. “Grand Rounds has done just that, it’s clear from the company’s Glassdoor ratings and reviews that it has created something special and that’s the kind of thing we aim to honor when creating this list.”

This is the eighth year that Glassdoor has created a list of the Best Places to Work through the Employees’ Choice Awards program.

“Everyone wants a job and company they love,” said Glassdoor co-founder and CEO Robert Hohman. “At Glassdoor, we’re working to make that a reality for the millions of job seekers around the world who are turning to Glassdoor for information they can’t find anywhere else. Programs like the Employees’ Choice Awards allow us to honor employers that stand out for their efforts in providing an enjoyable work environment and culture.”

Grand Rounds was also recognized this year as one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work and their CEO Owen Tripp was named the 2016 “Most Beloved CEO” in Rock Health’s Top 50 in Digital Health awards.
