Indians of the Tahoe Indian parish have planned several activities in celebration of the Christmas season. At the Indian Baptist church of Reno, a pageant of the Nativity was given Tuesday with Viola Smith and Dwayne Coffey representing Mary and Joseph.

The boys and girls at the Nevada State Children’s Home had a visit from a swingin’ Santa Claus Thursday night, Jazz man Louis Armstrong and Gov. Grant Sawyer dropped by, too. He pointed to Armstrong and said: “Here’s the world’s greatest entertainer and the greatest Santa to make his way down this pike.”

Although many of the supervisors agreed the idea is appealing, bed and breakfast businesses will not be allowed in the residential area of the Carson City Historic District.
