Dust to dust (continued from Wednesday). They represented men killed in battle with the savages, and who died from hardship and exposure at a time when Nevada was but a territory and thinly populated, and it is not improbable that over many of these soldiers no burial services were ever before performed.

With the municipal election but slightly more than two months away, Reno women, who will cast their first ballots at this election, are busy discussing candidates for city office. Already nine possibilities for mayor have been mentioned. Col. Carl Young, editor of a former weekly political newspaper, the Nevada Rockroller, stated positively that he would run.

70 years ago

Mrs. John Bills was hostess to members of her bridge club on Monday evening. Those attending were Mesdames R. E. Walker, Donald Perry, Edith Fritsch, Robert Punches, Melvin Ethington and Misses Genevieve Pohlman and Grace Bordewich.

60 Years ago

Carson City’s town basketball team suffered its second loss of the season last night with a 58-56 nip and tuck ball game with a Reno AA league team. Delbert Longero took scoring honors with 26 points.
