Glenbrook City. Lumbering operations about Lake Bigler (Tahoe) will cause extensive growth of Glenbrook. Mr. M. C. Gardner, having taken the contract to furnish the mills of Yerington, Bliss & Co., with logs, will cause a stir at that locality and make it a place of some note. Mr. M. C. Gardner, who has a contract, is building a railroad at Sugar Pine Point, Lake Tahoe. The road will be broad-gauge and run through the heart of the pine forest. We have not heard of any “logging” being done with a locomotive.

Horseless carriage. Five automobiles passed through Carson on their way to Tonopah to be used for passenger service between Tonopah and Goldfield. The autos were the light type, while one 25 horse power machine was in the bunch. The five machines clugged through town, and it awakened the native to the fact that the horseless carriage is the coming power for transportation.

Carson lions. Miss Alida C. Bowler, superintendent of the Carson Indian School, gave a talk on the Indian service at the Arlington Hotel.

Knuckle walking. A fossil analysis shows that humans evolved directly from an ancestor that walked on its knuckles similar to gorillas and chimpanzees.
