Building for the future

While spring generally brings with it a surge in construction projects, 2015 is, in particular, off to strong start.

The surge of construction in northern Nevada has been a healthy mix — new projects and renovations as well as the initiation of projects that had previously been on hold are a part of the activity. Single and multi-family residential sectors are strong with projects in retail and light industrial also underway.

And public works are also ongoing with roadways and bridges being repaired or rebuilt.

Throughout the region, the construction resurgence can be seen. Northern Nevada is growing — more business, more people, more opportunity — and that means a lot more construction.

There’s so much commercial construction, in fact, it’s hard to keep track of, which is why the Northern Nevada Business Weekly once again compiled the annual Building Northern Nevada publication.

Profiled in this special content publication — as well as the pages of the regular weekly — are the biggest or most significant construction projects underway throughout the region, which are adding untold number of construction jobs.

We included everything from warehouses being built to accommodate new brand-name tenants to new construction methods used in luxury homebuilding and commercial structures.

You’ll see updates on major projects, like the SouthEast Connector, the Tesla gigafactory as well as key business intelligence in The List on some of the biggest contractors doing business in this part of the Silver State.

There’s a lot going on in northern Nevada right now, and our business publication will keep you up to date on all the major deals.
