Jordyn Ballard of Virginia City awarded scholarship

Storey County Professional Fire Fighters honored Jordyn Ballard of Virginia City High School with its 2016 Scholarship Award. The education-based donation is part of an annual effort for the firefighters to further education in their community. Ballard was presented with a $1,000 scholarship, which will help with Ballard’s tuition this year. Ballard plans to attend the University of Nevada, Reno to study education.
