Carson City health inspections

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for June 1. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Mi Casa Too, 3809 N. Carson St., scored 100 points.

Walmart Supercenter, meat department, 3200 Market St., 100 points.

Casino Fandango, Cabaret Bar, 3800 S. Carson St., 98 points. Food contact surfaces of equipment were not clean. The ice machine needed to be cleaned and sanitized.

Firkin & Fox, 310 S. Carson St., Suite 100, 98 points. The mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly installed or maintained. The dishwasher needed to be repaired. Cloths used on food contact surfaces were not clean. The sanitizer concentration was insufficient in sanitizing buckets.

Comstock Casino, 3680 Goni Road, 97 points. The refrigerator in the rear of the bar needed to be turned down. Dairy products were found at an improper temperature. The mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly installed or maintained.

Casino Fandango, Bird Bar, 3800 S. Carson St., 96 points. Cloths used on food contact surfaces were not clean. Sanitizer buckets needed to be set up. The handwashing sinks were being used to store and dump items.

Casino Fandango, Duke’s Steak House Bar, 3800 S. Carson St., 96 points. The mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly installed or maintained. Bottles of sanitizer were empty. Employees were using hand sanitizer instead of washing their hands.

Little Caesars Pizza, 1820 E. William St., 96 points. Beef was holding at an improper temperature. The mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly installed or maintained. Thermometers to check the temperatures of cooked food were missing.

Casino Fandango, video bar, 3800 S. Carson St., 95 points. The mechanical dish washing facilities were not properly installed or maintained. Both the detergent and sanitizer for the dishwasher were empty. Cloths used on food contact surfaces were not clean. The bar was not being properly sanitized. A supply of paper towels at the handwashing sink was not present.

Subway, 2073 E. Highway 50, Suite 1, 95 points. Poultry was being held at an improper temperature. A refrigerator’s temperature needed to be decreased. Temperature logs were not being kept. A certified food handler was not on duty.

Galaxy Fandango, restaurant, 4000 S. Curry St., 94 points. Perishable hot foods were at an improper temperature. Sanitizer concentrations in spray bottles were insufficient.

Taqueria la Salsa, 1946 E. Highway 50, 94 points. Beef was found at an improper temperature. Areas behind, between and under food equipment needed to be cleaned. A certified food handler was not on duty.

Walmart Supercenter, deli, 3200 Market St., 92 points. The three compartment sink was not properly set up. Sanitizer buckets were missing. There was no certified food handler on duty.

Jack in the Box, 309 E. William St., 91 points. Dairy products and other perishable cold foods were holding at an improper temperature. Cream based dressings were being stored at room temperature. Kitchen surfaces and utensils needed to be repaired. Floors needed to be cleaned. A preparation table was not easily cleanable. The bottom of the cooler doors needed to be cleaned and sanitized. Food contact surfaces and utensils needed to be cleaned, as well as the toaster and fans. Standing coolers needed to be taken apart and cleaned. The outside garbage storage area was not clean. The grease bin was coated in grease.

Walmart Supercenter, bakery, 3200 Market St., 3200 Market St., 88 points. The temperature of the dishwasher’s final rinse cycle was improper. The three compartment sink was not properly set up. Sanitizer buckets were not set up for wiping spills. There was no certified food handler on duty.
