Nevada prison officials say a 73-year-old inmate serving a 10-years-to-life sentence for sexual assault in Lyon County has died at a prison medical facility in Carson City.
The Nevada Department of Corrections says James E. Barrows died Thursday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center.
It says an autopsy was planned by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.
Court records show that Barrows pleaded guilty in November 1996 in Yerington to felony sexual assault.
Prison records show that he was denied parole four times since 2006.
