Local NAIOP chapter celebrates 10 years

The Northern Nevada Chapter of the NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association celebrated its 10th Anniversary in style on Thursday, Sept. 15.

The gala, which also celebrated the accomplishments of the local commercial real estate industry, offered a unique setting at Greater Nevada Field, home of the Reno Aces.

The sold out event drew 240 attendees, culminating in a reception situated on the infield diamond on the ballpark’s field.

Commercial real estate brokers honorees were: Scott Beggs (Basin Street Properties), Michael Dermody (Dermody Properties), Dave Howard (retired), Paul Kinne (Panattoni Development Co.), Marc Markwell (Sierra Nevada Construction), Bill Miles (Miles Construction), Brandon Page (GLP U.S.), Doug Roberts (Panattoni Development Co.), Scott Shanks (Dickson Commercial Group), and Brad Woodring (First American Title).

Chris Myers, accomplished sports broadcaster with Fox Sports and former ESPN, served a keynote speaker. Myers shared some of his varied experiences including interviewing Charles Barkley, Mike Tyson and even O.J. Simpson. He also drew laughs talking about his few encounters with movie star and noted Chicago Cubs fan Bill Murray.
