Carson City health inspections for Dec. 1, 2017

Carson City Health Department’s food-service inspections for Dec. 1. All scores are on a 100-point scale, with points deducted depending on the severity of violations:

Bless Up, 2707 E. Highway 50, scored 100 points.

Carson City Senior Center, 911 Beverly Drive, 100 points.

Kernel’s Popcorn, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite E, 100 points.

Little Caesars Pizza, 1217 S. Carson St., 100 points.

Los Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant, 2000 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Taco Bell, 4539 N. Carson St., 100 points.

The Union, 302 N. Carson St., 100 points.

Walmart Supercenter, deli, 3200 Market St., 100 points.

Galaxy Fandango, 4000 S. Curry St., 99 points. The floor near the popcorn and soda machines wasn’t clean.

Flat Earth Pizza, 2010 E. William St., 98 points. A slow cooker and other equipment weren’t certified by the National Sanitation Foundation.

Walmart Supercenter, meat department, 3200 Market St., 97 points. Paper towels were missing from the employee hand-wash sink.

Walmart Supercenter, bakery, 3200 Market St., 96 points. The dishwashing machine in the bakery was out of service.

Wally’s Pizza and Subs, 4600 Snyder Ave., Suite D, 95 points. Moldy cheese was found and discarded on site.

Antojitos El Mundo Latino, 910 E. William St., 94 points. Paper towels were missing from two sinks. A certified food handler wasn’t on site.

Carson Donut, 3170 S. Carson St., Suite 10, 93 points. A one-inch gap was found at the bottom of the rear entry door. Dust and grease were coating the shelves above the three-compartment sink. Garbage storage container lids were open. The floor under equipment needed to be cleaned.

Port of Subs, 1621 E. Highway 50, Suite B, 93 points. The employee hand-wash sink was inaccessible.

Mom and Pop’s Diner, 401 S. Carson St., 92 points. The internal temperature of the reach-in refrigerator in the food preparation area was found at 57 degrees, not the required 41 degrees or below. The employee hand-wash sink was missing liquid soap.

China Chef, 3135 E. Highway 50, 84 points. Perishable cold foods were found above 46 degrees. The food in the reach-in cooler wasn’t being held at 41 degrees or below. Fish, beef and other perishable food were being stored at room temperature. Food wasn’t being stored in approved containers. Raw chicken was being stored over fish. Raw pork was being stored over vegetables and other ready-to-eat food. Cutting board surfaces were cracked, cut, chipped or otherwise damaged. Floors, line equipment, tables and the soda machine needed to be cleaned.
