Justin Robert Ryan is engaged to wed Katelyn Anne Staszkow in an Oct. 20 ceremony in Oceanside, Calif.
Ryan, a 2006 graduate of Carson High School, is the son of Mark and Cathy Ryan of Carson City.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Digital Art from Arizona State University in 2010. He continued at the same university and earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering in 2014 and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2015.
Ryan is a research scientist and serves as director of 3D Visualization, Innovation and Prototyping at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Julie and Joe Staszkow of Chandler, Ariz., and a 2007 graduate of Chandler High School.
She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from the University of Utah in 2011 and a Master of Science in Education: Curriculum and Instruction from Portland State University in 2016.
She’s currently a dance teacher in San Diego.
Jules Stewart is set to officiate the couple’s wedding service.
