Parsons Behle & Latimer recently welcome Reno local Jamie Rinehart Tract to the firm’s Corporate Transactions and Securities team, as well as its Real Estate practice team, in the Reno office as an Of Counsel attorney.

Rinehart Tract is an experienced corporate transactional attorney who focuses her practice on complex contract drafting and negotiation; start-ups and business formation; and corporate governance, according to a March 30 press release.

Prior to returning to Reno in 2018, Rinehart Tract practiced as lead transactional in-house counsel for a major Los Angeles property acquisition, development and management company.

She says returning to Reno in 2018 has been a refreshing change.

“While practicing in Los Angeles was an exhilarating experience, deals done there are often impersonal and rushed,” Rinehart Tract said in a statement. “I appreciate being back in an environment with a much more friendly pace, where building and maintaining relationships is important, and many people know each other and have a shared history. We have an amazing community that takes pride in honest and fair business practices.”

She earned her B.S. in psychology and business from the University of Oregon in 2010, gradating Summa Cum Laude. She earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law in 2013.

Rinehart Tract says she sees significant real estate opportunities for investors in the Reno area, particularly during an economic downturn, and specifically mentions 1031 exchanges.

As a result of the pandemic, businesses are finding alternatives to large commercial and retail spaces, and a lot of these spaces are going unused or up for sale. By utilizing a 1031 exchange, investors can divest properties in other states, defer capital gains or recapture of depreciation, and invest in Reno’s growing economy.

“We’re extremely pleased to add Jamie to our outstanding team of corporate transaction and real estate attorneys,” Parsons’ Reno office Managing Shareholder Michael R Kealy said in a statement. “She brings a strong skillset, great experience and deep knowledge of the area to our office that will undoubtedly benefit our clients.”
