City National Bank awards $20,000 in grants to 4 nonprofits

City National Bank recently awarded Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) grants totaling $20,000 to four nonprofits in Northern Nevada: Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Nevada, Eddy House, Family Support Council of Douglas County and Friends in Servicing Helping.

“We have been supporting many nonprofit organizations in the state of Nevada for over 14 years since entering the region in 2007” Sal Mendoza, senior vice president and CRA manager for City National, said in a statement. “We take great pride in supporting the communities where we work and live, and we commend the work being done by these wonderful nonprofit organizations to enhance the vitality and well-being of our communities.”

According to a July 29 press release, City National’s Community Reinvestment Act program focuses on financial, in-kind and volunteer assistance to nonprofits that “enhance the quality of life and promote public interest where the company conducts its business.”

Main areas of outreach include education, health and human services, community development, and arts and culture.
