People: Jose Tafoya joins Woodburn and Wedge as associate attorney

Jose Tafoya recently joined law firm Woodburn and Wedge as an associate in Reno, practicing in general civil law.

Tafoya earned a J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV, graduating magna cum laude, where he was named to the Dean’s Honor List and received the CALI Award for the Highest Grade in Lawering Process 1, according to a Nov. 18 press release.


He earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in criminal justice and a minor in economics from the University of Nevada, Reno.


Tafoya joined Woodburn and Wedge as a summer associate prior to being admitted to the State Bar of Nevada. 


Previously he worked as a judicial extern to Justice Kristina Pickering in the Supreme Court of Nevada, and to Magistrate Judge William G. Cobb in the United States District Court, District of Nevada.
