PBS Reno has promoted Bryan Carr to the position of chief engineer.

As chief engineer, Carr works with a team of engineers and maintenance technicians who keep PBS Reno current with technological improvements including network updates, restructuring station equipment, building and studio improvements, and transmitter work around the region.

Carr attended Truckee Meadows Community College, where he studied electronics and industrial maintenance. He worked as an engineer at Circus Circus in Reno for several years before working in public safety communications projects at Raven Electronics.

Carr joined PBS Reno in February 2019 as broadcast engineering technician and was promoted to assistant chief engineer in January 2021.

His experience and work ethic proved vital during the COVID-19 pandemic that temporarily forced a work-from-home model to keep the station operating as usual.
