People: Sara Carmack named chief nursing officer at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center

Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce Sara Carmack as its new chief nursing officer. Carmack succeeds former CNO Krystal Flaniken.

Carmack joins Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center with nearly 20 years of nursing and healthcare experience, most recently serving as the executive director of nursing and risk manager for Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Prior to that, Carmack held nursing leadership roles in Northern Nevada, California, and Texas. Carmack has a Master of Science in nursing from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Criminal Justice from St. Ambrose University, and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from St. Ambrose University.

In her role as CNO, she will oversee all hospital operations as it relates to nursing care, treatment, and clinical services. In addition to these duties, Carmack will coordinate administrative activities, analyze and make recommendations on service-lines, and implement programs to measure and improve the quality of care delivered to patients.
