Obituary: Eugenia Rondas

A graveside service for Eugenia (Geni) Winifred Abriel Rondas, 83, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lone Mountain Cemetery.

Mrs. Rondas died Jan. 12, 2000, in Santaquin, Utah. She was born Aug. 19, 1916, in Manhattan, N.Y., to Harry Augustus and Winifred Eugenia McAuliffe Abriel.

She married Frank Paul Rondas Aug. 27, 1937.

She was educated in Los Angeles schools and worked as an entertainer and in vaudeville, then later as office manager for a number of automobile dealerships in California and Carson City. She and her husband moved to Carson City in 1976.

After the death of her husband in 1989, she went back to school and earned an associate degree, a bachelor's degree, and in 1998 at the age of 82, she earned her master's degree in English. At the time of her death, she had declared for her doctorate degree in English.

Among her survivors are her half-brother, Robert Abriel, of California; sons, Frank Paul Jr. and Judy of Sacramento, Michael Gene and his wife, Colleen, of Santaquin; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
