Thomas J. Self, 84, a Carson City resident for the past 25 years, died March 8, 2002, at his home. He was born in 1918 in Cowley County, Kan., to James and Maude Self.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred in 1993 and son Thomas J. Jr. in 1999.
Among his survivors are his daughters Barbara Kirby and Hester Araujo and son-in-law Victor Kirby, all of Carson City; brother James of Idaho; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday at the Wesleyan Church - Good Shepherd.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
