Obituary: Catherine Wadsworth Fillmore

A service for Catherine Wadsworth Fillmore, 79, a Carson City resident and Nevada native, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Walton's Chapel of the Valley.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, at Walton's.

Mrs. Fillmore died Oct. 21, 2002, at her home. She was born June 27, 1923, in Genoa, to Chester and Pansy John Wadsworth.

She attended Stewart Indian School in Carson City.

She married Jimmy Fillmore in 1940. He preceded her in death in July 1979.

Mrs. Fillmore was a housewife. She sat on the Housing Authority Council, the Carson Colony Community Council and the Washoe Tribal Council.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Dean, daughter, Emeline, and brothers and sisters.

Among her survivors are her children Genevieve Morris, Jimmy Fillmore Jr., Warren Fillmore, Byron Fillmore, Norrine Malone, Francine Fillmore and Ellen Fillmore; sister Melinda Murphy; 20 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many other family members.

Burial will be at the Stewart Indian Cemetery.

A dinner will immediately follow the burial at the Carson Colony Gym.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
