Suit challenges IGT, Acres deal

Acres Gaming Inc.

said last week a class-action lawsuit seeks to void the merger of the Las Vegas-based company with International Game Technology of Reno.

Acres said the lawsuit alleges that its directors violated their fiduciary duties to the company's shareholders, a claim that Acres said it believes are without merit.

IGT in late June signed a definitive agreement to acquire Acres for $11.50 a share, or about $130 million, in cash.

The companies said they expect the deal to close in the fourth quarter.
