Obituary: Jacqueline Giorgi

A funeral Mass for Jacqueline Norine Giorgi, 73, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 37 N. West St., Yerington.

A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home.

Mrs. Giorgi died on June 22, 2003, at Carson-Tahoe Hospital. She was born on June 28, 1929, in Merced, Calif., to Angelo and Emily Bardini.

She married Baldo Giorgi on July 5, 1950.

Mrs. Giorgi taught at Antelope Elementary and Coleville High schools for more than 43 years, retiring in June 2000. During this time, she coached volleyball, taking Coleville High to a league state championship in 1980. She was athletic director until her death. She was named League Director of the Year for the 1997-98 school year.

Among her survivors are her husband of 52 years, Baldo, of Gardnerville; sons and daughters-in-law David and Rhonda of Yerington and Kenneth and Carol of Mariposa, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Michael O'Keefe of Topaz Ranch Estates; and grandchildren David Giorgi Jr., Jackie Giorgi, Michael Giorgi, Lisa Allen, Joshua Allen, Christie and Nathan Winters and Robert Giorgi.

Burial will be at the Valley View Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Coleville High School, 111591 Highway 395, Coleville, CA 96107.
