Timothy Sean Maloney

A gathering of family and friends of Timothy Sean Maloney, 48, a Gardnerville resident, will be from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 4 at the family home.

Mr. Maloney died Aug. 18, 2004, of cancer. He was born March 25, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo.

Among his survivors are his wife, Angi of Gardnerville; stepson and wife, Aaron and Alice Schmalenberger, and grandson Casey Bartevian of South Lake Tahoe; stepdaughter, Nina Schmalenberger of Surprise, Ariz.; mother, Jeanne Maloney of Shawnee, Kan.; brothers Terry of Overland Park, Kan., and Mike of Kansas City, Mo., and dogs Viper, Voodoo and Villain.

Mr. Maloney worked for Capital Beverage as operations manager in Carson City for the past 11 years. Prior to that, he worked at Nor-Cal Beverage at South Lake Tahoe for 14 years. He volunteered for the Douglas County 4-H program for seven years as the instructor for the Happy Heelers Club and was a very civic-minded person. He was an avid Nascar fan and competed at Champion Motor Speedway in the Hustlin' Hornets Division for the past two years.

The family requests no flowers.
