Dorothy I. Smith, 88, a Carson City resident for the past eight years, died Aug. 10, 2005, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carson City.
She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Columbus, Ga., to Rosa Burkes.
Mrs. Smith worked as a spinner in a cotton mill.
She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jerry R., and husband, Monroe.
Among her survivors are her daughter-in-law Doris Smith; grandson Randy Smith and great-granddaughter Brianna Smith, all of Carson City, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, Ga.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
