Mary Sharron Lee 'Sharri' Holman

A celebration of life for Mary Sharron Lee "Sharri" Holman, 65, a Gardnerville resident for the past 17 years, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville, Gardnerville.

Mrs. Holman died Aug. 22, 2005 at her home, of complications of cancer. She was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Detroit to Thomas Tim and Peck Nagel.

Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived in Southern California.

She sang professionally with her sisters before her marriage in 1961. She worked in the grocery business and had two successful home-based businesses of her own.

She married Gene Holman in 1991 when he was pastor of Alpine Christian Community Church in Markleeville until 1995 and then at Living Word Fellowship in Gardnerville, where her husband is a pastor.

Mrs. Holman has traveled to many places and she was a hot-air balloon pilot and enjoyed piloting her balloon Lightweight for a few years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.

She often fished in the Carson River.

She was preceded in death by sister Ellie O'Toole of Markleeville.

Among her survivors are her husband, her parents and daughter and son-in-law Michelle Shelli and Lennie Hodges, all of Gardnerville; daughter and son-in-law Meleesa and Robbie Pellerino, of Grass Valley, Calif.; sisters Reen Tisinger of Gardnerville and Kathleen Kelli Edwards of Virginia City; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Judi Nagel of Markleeville, sister and brother-in-law Coco and David Kelly of South Lake Tahoe; brother and sister-in-law Tim and Doreen Nagel of Anza, Calif.; brother Ted Nagel of Gardnerville; and six grandchildren.
