State board disciplines six contractors working in region

The Nevada State Contractors Board disciplined six contractors working in northern Nevada, and revoked the licenses of three of them.

The license of Stonecoat, Inc., a concrete contractor in Carson City, was revoked for substandard workmanship, failure to correct substandard workmanship and other violations.

The license of Miller Industries, a carpentry contractor in Reno, also was revoked for substandard workmanship, failure to correct substandard workmanship and other violations.

The third contractor to lose its license, Sierra Nurseries LLC, a landscape contractor from Wilsonville, Ore., failed to pay for materials or services and failed to establish financial responsibility.

The three companies whose licenses were revoked also were ordered to pay investigative costs and reimburse monies paid out of the state's Residential Recovery Fund.

DC's Plumbing of Reno, meanwhile, was fined $600 and investigative costs for substandard workmanship and other violations.

Michael Coates Drywall of Reno was fined $600 and investigative costs for substandard workmanship and other violations.

Snelling Construction, a residential and small commercial contractor based at Dayton, was fined $700 and investigative costs for substandard workmanship and ordered to pay $1,300 in restitution to a homeowner.
