Contractors board hands down discipline

The Nevada State Contractors Board has revoked the licenses of Sierra Custom Concrete and Sierra Poolscapes of Carson City after the companies failed to abide with an order issued by the board in May.

In a second disciplinary action, the board suspended the license of Steve Hoeft Construction of Reno, fined it $3,850 and told it to make restitution to a property owner. The board found the company completed substandard workmanship, willfully disregarded building laws and failed to establish financial responsibility.

Investigators for the board, meanwhile, issued a criminal citation for contracting without a license to Roberto Lopez Contreras, who also is known as Roberto Gustin Nuanez. Investigators said Contreras provided a bid in the Reno area for the installation of pavers.
