Mark A. Jewett, Judd B. Merrill

Mark A. Jewett has joined Comstock Mining Inc. of Virginia City as chief accounting officer, and Judd B. Merrill has joined the company as controller.

Jewett, a certified public accountant, has worked as a chief financial officer, chief accounting and officer and controller of several publicly held companies. He also has worked for Arthur Anderson & Co.

Jewett earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and computer science from Milligan College and a master's degree in accountancy from East Tennessee State University.

Merrill, a CPA, previously worked as assistant controller of Newmont Mining Corp. and controller of Fronteer Gold Inc. He also has worked with Meridian Gold Co. and Deloitte & Touche LLP.

He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Central Washington University and a master's in business administration from the University of Nevada, Reno.
