Construction crews removed the roof of Great Basin Imaging on Saturday to make room for a new large 64-Slice CT Scanner.

“It’s the latest and greatest in MRI imaging equipment,” said Samantha Thompson, marketing specialist for Carson Tahoe Health. “It’s the largest on the market.”

Thompson said the silent-scan technology will be the centerpiece of the office’s new Caring MR Suite, where patients will be able to use electronic devices to listen to music, look at pictures or watch movies projected on the walls while they wait and during their scans.

“It’s a patient-centered suite,” Thompson said. “It’s very cool.”
