Education achievements: Minden native named to dean’s list

Kaitlyn Dry of Minden, has been named to Wake Forest University’s dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.

Students must achieve a 3.4-grade point average or higher and no grade below a “C” to make the list.

UNR sets early deadline for incoming freshmen

University of Nevada, Reno’s new freshman application deadline for the fall 2015 semester is May 1, a deadline that is up one month from last year.

The university plans to move next year’s deadline to April 1, 2016 for the fall 2016 freshmen class.

University Vice President of Student Services Shannon Ellis said the earlier deadlines ensure new freshmen have access to classes, housing, orientation and other essential University programs and services.
