Yesterday the editor of the Appeal received an invitation to appear in the Virginia City procession for July 4. The idea is to have us go up there and parade on our old yellow pot-bellied cayuse of the mountains; the same animal that was such a distinguishing feature of the parade last year. This spectacle would draw many people away from here; and attract vast crowds of the rustic population to the Comstock. Fealty to our own fair city compels us to decline. We had rather be a yellow dog and bay at the moon in Carson, than be Grand Marshal of a Virginia parade.
